Thursday's NFL Transaction Report revealed that the Arizona Cardinals have released
special teams safety and tight end Chris Banjo. There was a good reason behind it.
According to Denver 9NEWS' Mike Klis, Banjo is transitioning to coaching immediately and will join
the Denver Broncos on new head coach Sean Payton's staff as an assistant special teams coach.
Banjo, in his 10 NFL seasons, was a quintessential team player for every team he played for.
Payton was the head coach of the New Orleans Saints when Banjo played in 2017-2018.
Banjo played the last four seasons of his career after playing for Payton for the Cardinals.
He joins former Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph on Payton's Denver staff.
